- Mary Toalson had 10 bird photos on display in the Photo Gallery of the new Redwood Shores Library from Saturday, September 6, 2008 through October 27, 2008. The address is 399 Marine Parkway at Bridge. Mary will also have six bird pictures featured in the permanent new Interpretive Center at the RWS Library, which will have another Grand Opening in February 2009. More info to follow.
- Mary Toalson had 20 photos on display at The Millbrae Art and Photography Show sponsored by the Millbrae Arts Commission, 477 Lincoln Circle, Millbrae, (650) 259-2360. The show ran from Friday evening April 25, 7:00-9:00 p.m. through Sat. April 26, 12:00- 5:00 p.m. There was an Opening Reception on Friday with Wine and Cheese and Entertainment by Taylor Spring Quartet. There were 100 photos on display as well as water color and oil and acrylic paintings and stone sculptures. Mary’s matted photos fit into frames size: 11x14, 14x18, & 16x20. They are matted using acid free matting and supplies and Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival ink. She also sold her fine art photo cards, 5x7 with envelopes. Mary won the people’s choice award for two of her color photographs: “Giant Panda Bear Eating Bamboo” and “A Rainy Afternoon”. Mary’s black and white photo “Early Morning Sand Dunes” won First place in the photo contest and her black and white photo “Serenity” won Second place. In Creative she also won Second place. Mary is a member of the Millbrae Camera Club - www.millbraecameraclub.org
- County Fair Awards: Alameda- Silver Award for Black & White photo titled “Early Morning Sand Dunes”. San Mateo – Third place ribbon for photo titled “Caterpillar Munching on Daisies”.
